3 Days | £600

The aims of this Stone Therapy course are to teach students the movements and techniques required to safely and competently perform a range of professional Hot and Cold Stone Massage treatments. No prior knowledge regarding use of stones is assumed, and you will learn how to adapt your current massage practice to seamlessly incorporate the use of hot basalt and cold marine stones in addition to the use of gemstones to balance the chakras. Consequently, it is expected that students have an underpinning knowledge of massage, which is a pre-requisite to undertaking this course. The background and history of stone therapy, the respective benefits of hot and cold stone massage, relevant contra-indications and contra-actions, hygiene, health and safety, room preparation, consultation, and aftercare will be covered.

This course equips students with a 30-minute Back, Neck, and Shoulder Massage routine, a 60-minute Full Body Massage routine, and a 90-minute Top-to-Toe Massage routine. Should you wish to offer extended treatments, a 45-minute Back, Neck, and Shoulder Massage for example, certain movements can be repeated, and/or extra time can be spent on a client’s areas of concerns—something which will be discerned during the pre-treatment consultation.

While this course does teach a routine, it is expected that, over time, therapists will change and adapt the sequences taught to suit their clientele, and their style of practice, to create an organic, unique therapy, which clients will come to recognise as distinctively yours.

In addition to learning Stone Therapy Massage, you will also complete the following two units:
- Client Care and Communication in Beauty-Related Industries
- Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the Salon

Please see below for assessment requirements for each constituent unit.

Please note that, with any VTCT qualification, you may be chosen by the External Examiner and External Quality Assurance to have work sampled and/or your practice observed. To complete the qualification and receive certification, you MUST attend should you be called.
Next Date: TBC
Cost: £600 (Payment plans available though full payment MUST must be received full before start date)
Please note: the above cost is inclusive of the price of registering you with VTCT and entering you for your online examinations. VTCT examinations require a pass mark of 70%, and, should you not achieve this mark, can be retaken. After your third unsuccessful attempt, there will be an additional charge per attempt.
Additional Costs: None
Pre-Requisites: While there are no formal pre-requisites, it is expected that students will have a massage qualification to ensure sufficient grounding in structure and function of the musculature, massage movements and an awareness of their effects.
